Highly professional team who never fail to amaze, gentle interruption by a lady during my treadmill run telling me that my watch was abit loud, ok i get it and rightfully so, yes i often get annoyed by it too, granted, could hv told me after the run, i cant do anything much during the run mdm, while finishing my run a gentleman came standing by the treadmill (thought he is awaiting for his turn), asked if i hv my towel with me after i stepped down from the threadmill, i replied him yes it was inside my bag, his tone was respectful & he reminded me to carry it with me all the while. Yes i brought my towel and but it was huge one 😅, after which i took it out and wipe my sweat, not that much enough to drip as i was on zone 2 easy run for 30 mins only. Oh gosh, just 30 minutes on the treadmill, yet i did so much wrong. My watch only shouted out loud twice for 10 to 12 secs each time and yet she managed to nailed it at the 2nd time, kudos to her. I would rate the staff, The man in red: 7/10 The lady: 6/10 Technically both of them was ok and conducted themselves professionally, man did slightly better as he waited for me to come down the moving treadmill before speaking to me. I came today to “reset” my activesg credit only as there is a need to do so in order to keeping the remaining credit, in fact i did so every year. Mdm, i hv since set my watch to silent, my apologies & thank you. Sir, ok thanks for the reminder. Overall the gym is well maintained and cant help to get the same genuinely “cold” service that generally our government service are known for, ruthlessly efficient and well oiled. Guess i will likely maintain my minimal once a year attendance moving forward, for me a “warm” reception matters more than anything else, cheers and no offence meant. Yes it’s stressed me up abit and made me a little uncomfortable, but i guess that’s how public gyms are run. Once again, they never do anything out of line. Overall i only spent about 45 mins in the gym. 5 mins to wear my jogging shoe. 30mins to run on the treadmill. 10 mins to take off my shoes, hydrate myself, packed up and leave the gym. Overall gym experience: 2/10 (very regimental)
View on GoogleNot bad of a gym overall, but there are caveats. + Enough power racks/deadlift platform for SBD / other barbell movements + Enough cardio machines - Hamstring Curl has not been repaired for over 3 weeks but is still usable (just don't get caught by the staff or they will bully you) - Overall cleanliness of the gym and its toilets are bad. You'll see dust at almost every corner of the gym - At least one machine will be broken evey other week - Insufficient amount of machines. It's a normal occurrence for a single pec deck to have over 8 people crowding around. Best times to go: - Weekday mornings (right after the gym opens) - Sunday nights - Early afternoons on weekdays Worst times to go: - Weekday nights (filled with corporate slaves and people alike) - Evenings/Late afternoons especially on a school day. Usually filled with secondary school/JC students Tbh for a gym that has a dirt cheap membership I don't think it's so bad. But compare it to bedok activesg, I'd say that bedok activesg is better
View on GooglePleasantly surprised by the amount of gym equipment and space here! Although the gym equipment was not the newest, there were sufficient equipment to go around without having to wait too long! - 2 power deadlift/squat platforms - 3 bench press/squat rack - 1 smith machine - 4 to 5 benches at the free weights area - lots of cardio machines (treadmills, bikes) - free space for kettlebell movements, 3 free deadhang bar - 2 assisted pull up bar - multi-purpose machines with double pulleys to do your tricep cables - 2 lat pulldown There were a few rowdy school kids but the staff at the gym was quite fast to go over and monitor. Not to mention the gym has a view overlooking the swimming pool. Tampines residents are so lucky!!!
View on GoogleTHE WORST ACTIVE SG GYM I’VE EVER BEEN TO. Not that it’s small and usually crowded during peak hours, it’s filthy, unhygienic, under maintained, and badly ventilated. Look at the photos and judge for yourself. The water point could pass for a rubbish chute. It’s a wonder the users are not getting poisoned. The toilet floor is constantly wet with puddles and dirty. There is no proper hand soap in the toilet, just a bottle of very diluted liquid. One tap is broken down. The inner gym felt like a sauna even though it was raining outside. The only answer from the staff was the maintenance was fixing it now. I waited almost an hour more and it didn’t get better. Besides, the usual ventilation is already horrendous, which I think management is aware of and I guess is why they place fans around. But it doesn’t fix the issue because the air is still musty and humid with the smell of sweaty bodies in a confined space, which anyone knows promotes bacterial and mould growth which can cause some serious sicknesses. Really hope Active SG or Our Tampines Hub Facility management can do something to improve the situation. People go there to get healthy, not pick up third world sanitation standard illnesses. It’s just shameful at this point.
View on GoogleI went to check out this location after reading reviews. It’s far from my home so probably wont come back. The machines are new and works smoothly. There’s many smith machines like 4 of them which most gyms have 2. Also has 2 a-line cable machine and a large multi-cable machine stations. No area for stretching at all. Nice to see two stair stepper machine. Pool is large with two kid areas.
