Great fitness gym in Bishan! The space feels cozy yet fully equipped with everything you need for a solid workout. The staffs Hamzah and Razzif always so friendly and welcoming with smiles. The good vibes and great music make every session enjoyable. Since it’s in a bomb-shelter setting, the gym feels more private and comfortable, perfect for focused training. Highly recommend!! 👍👍

View on GoogleA new AF at Blk 227 Bishan St 23, next to Bishan NPC. It's actually an underground bomb shelter, and the space is quite small, perhaps the size of a 3-room HDB apartment. Fortunately, it's quite well laid out and equipped. I was torn on whether to give it 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately, while it's quite near perfect, there are some flaws that doesn't quite deserve 5 stars. Let's start with the good first. As mentioned, it's well equipped for the space available, and is free weights oriented. There are 2 half racks with platforms built into the flooring. There are also 2-4 sets of Ziva competition bumper plates, 2 Ziva Olympic barbells, fixed barbells, a Smith machine, dumbbells till 50kg, benches, and a few pulley machines. There's also a C2 rower and ski-erg, which is nice. So few AF branches have C2 rowers, so it's nice to see one. The layout also makes sense - free weights at the peripheral of the gym lined with mirrors, cardio machines at the other side, and machines in the centre. A bit cramped, but the gym doesn't have much space to work with so it's a good thing in this case. Ventilation and temperature is good. I've heard of some other underground gyms suffering from poor ventilation, but this one is nice and cool. Now on to the bad - the space obviously works against it. Because of this, it lacks stuff such as plate loaded machines and more barbells. The rack and platform can't really be used simultaneously, so anyone sharing would have to alternate. Not a big deal, but can be a bit inconvenient. The flooring is also a bit uneven, so when you're deadlifting, your barbell will not stay in place. Plates wise, it's quite sufficient, except for the 2.5kg and 1.25kg plates, where there are only 2 sets each. There are also no shower facilities - only changing room and toilets. The water fountain is also on L1, so you'd have to go up to fill water if you run out. Other than this, it's a solid gym. Hopefully it's not too crowded given the small size. When I went over a weekday lunch, there were
