I had a $9.90 PT trial with Steve today. He is friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He did not pressure me to sign up for the gym membership and PT sessions after explaining to me. Spacious place with pretty new equipment.
View on GoogleBeen training here for a couple of weeks at this point and wanted to share some pros and cons for the gym. Pros: 1. Equipment - Nautilus Impact machines are really smooth to use and are some of the better machines I've seen in a gym. Good selection of different handles for the cable machines. Dumbbells up to 40kg. 2 squat racks. Functional area with bands and kettlebells (though I don't really use those) 2. Cleanliness - Toilets and showers are really clean. Which is honestly an underrated thing to consider unless you've seen some really nasty showers. 3. Location - Great for people living around Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, and is not too far of a walk from the MRT station. There is also a bus stop right in front of the gym if you have a direct bus there. I didn't do any of the classes or engage one of their PTs so I can't comment on that experience, but the staff are very friendly and generally seem to know what they are doing. People in the gym are also generally friendly and I have had no issues with asking about sharing equipment or asking people how many sets they have left. Cons: 1. I find that there aren't enough plates to be shared between the 4 plate loaded machines (glute drive, leg press, bench press, smith machine) There are eight 20kg plates shared between these 4 machines (last I counted), which can make it difficult to get sufficient plates for your sets when it is crowded. For example, someone using the leg press can stack three 20kg plates on each side (people have strong legs at this gym man) which leave only two plates left to be shared between the other 3 machines. In Conclusion: Did I write this review to try and convince the management to get more plates for their machines? Yes. But it is still a great gym with good people. P.s. They do not have machines to work your back (i.e., chest supported row machines) or a preacher curl machine, but you can generally work around that (e.g., Helms Rows, Chest Supported Smith Machine Rows, dumbbell preacher curls)
View on GoogleMy 1st training today here. Really feel at home. My PT is a very nice person, knowing my back issue, she gave me training which is not so strenuous to my back. It's a very good workout on my strength, told me how to stretch my legs and what tools we can use. They are very friendly and I really do recommend those who wants a healthy lifestyle and get back in shape to come here for a visit.
