If you’re looking for a solid Muay Thai gym with great vibes, Royal Thai Fitness is definitely worth checking out. Master Thomas Chan makes every session enjoyable—he’s super patient, friendly, and knows how to keep things interesting. You’ll always feel challenged, but never overwhelmed. He knows how to push you to your limits while keeping the workouts fun and engaging. The gym also brings in Grand Master Charlie for certification grading, which just adds to the authenticity. It’s not something you see every day, and it really shows the level of commitment to proper Muay Thai training here. On top of that, the location is super convenient—right by the MRT with plenty of places to grab a bite afterward. They also have good shower facilities, so you can freshen up post-workout without hassle. Overall, this is a great place to crush your workout!
View on GoogleBeen training at RTF from 2012. On my 1st trial, I kinda blacked out just at the warming up stage. I was that weak. Over time, I got a bit fitter but still ended up white and pale after each session. Throughout the years, Master Chan always made double sure to check on me, and would remind the instructor taking me that I have asthma and to be double careful. Now, I can complete 3 rounds without much of a problem, much thanks to Master Chan and his instructors, for their patience and attentiveness. I have not not been to other Muay Thai gym so I cannot really compare, but I've been happy staying with RTF that I really found no need to try out elsewhere. The system's pretty straightforward.. You book a slot, you go down, you do your warm up and stretching, you do 3 x 3mins pad work with an instructor, cool down, and you are done. You are not required to hold the pad for others, which is something I really appreciate. 3 things I really appreciate about RTF. Although RTF does not have a boxing ring (I agree having it will really make the place look really cool), I really like that it is open air and that they make an effort to clean up the place, disinfect the equipments. There is no structure to the training unlike karate etc with their grading exams and what not. What Master Chan offers is flexibility. Talk to him about what you hope to achieve. Over my years there, there've been students who came wanting to learn how to spar, how to be an instructor, how to take the grading exams. After training them in the basics and depending on their fitness, Master Chan slowly switched focus to what they wanted to do. Some years back he even organised a sparring match for a group of interested students. They flew to Thailand and had great fun. I've read reviews about Master Chan, some not the best. Truth is, he is not a salesman, nor is he a sweet talker. He's a graduate from the school of hard knocks. He is who is he and that's what I really appreciate about him. Get to know him and you know he really cares about his students and he makes great effort to make sure you do your routine properly and safely.
View on GoogleSuch a wonderful place for training muaythai. The wind feels so good at outside gym. There are friendly trainers like a family. I have been going to RTF for 8years.
View on GoogleMaster Chan is an excellent trainer! All the trainers are friendly and encouraging. The location and environment is also very good. I highly recommend this Muay Thai class to everyone!
View on GoogleStarted training at Royal Thai Fitness March 2019. Love it here! Master Chan is a great teacher. He’s very attentive & patient, which I really appreciated as a beginner. The location and atmosphere is a big plus too. I like breathing in fresh air and having a bit of a view while training, and the folks are friendly. The community is a fun mix of diff ages, levels, and backgrounds, from little kids just starting out to male & female fighters who’ve gone to Thailand to fight.
